NASCAR’s Nationwide Series took to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday night and one driver dominated the majority of the race. Polesitter Chase Elliott kept his lead for the early part of the race, but was passed by Kevin Harvick on lap 37. Following that pass, Harvick was able to gain a comfortable lead on the rest of the field. His run was only interrupted twice during the race by debris cautions on laps 72 and 120, with the caution on lap 120 being slightly extended due to some light showers on the track. Prior to the first caution, Harvick held a four second lead over second place runner Joey Logano and had a lead of seven-and-a-half seconds over Chase Elliott, who was in second at the time, before the second caution. In fact, Harvick was so dominant that he was able to put much of the field a lap down with only nine cars finishing on the lead lap.

Elliott and Logano dueled for second for much of the race, passing each other frequently on restarts and following pit stops. However, it was Logano who came out on top after the second restart of the night. He then went on to start to challenge Harvick for the lead at the end of the race but just missed out on being able to make the pass, finishing just over half a second behind Harvick.

Kevin Harvick went on to win the race, with Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, and Chase Elliott rounding out the top five.
