Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant Program Suspended
Earlier this week the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society, announced it was temporarily suspending its Study Abroad Grant program, according to a recent press release.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus, Phi Kappa Phi has been closely monitoring the situation and based on the current uncertainty regarding travel, the Study Abroad Grant program has been suspended temporarily. Applications and letters of recommendation that have been received for the 2020 competition will be kept on file and reviewed in the upcoming academic year (Fall).
Phi Kappa Phi inducts around 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni each year. The Society has chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors.
The Society annually awards 75 Study Abroad Grants of $1,000 each to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and expand their horizons by studying abroad.
